The people that you will read about in this section are the inspiration for MelioGuide. Each person describes her own journey in her words: how she discovered that her bone health was not what she originally thought; her surprise (and sometimes shock) with the discovery; and finally her story about how she took her health into her own hands.
Some of the people needed to go on medication to address their bone density. But, in the end, each discovered that they needed to adopt a bone-friendly lifestyle that incorporated a healthy diet and the proper exercise program.
A common theme in these stories is that each person eventually committed herself to a regular exercise program that was targeted at building stronger bones. In each case, her bone health improved, she was able to continue an active life, there was an improved sense of wellbeing, and, by learning how to take control of her bone health, each experienced the satisfaction that comes with empowerment.
